Research is at the core of EBAN Research Lab.
Our work explores the intersection of technology, law and digital society through independent, practice-oriented research. Every project is developed with a focus on long-term usability, transparency and professional application.
Trabant Systems research is organized around two core lines: Linux Trabant and AI Directives. Around them, additional experimental projects, compatibility layers and applied research initiatives are developed as specific technical and professional problems emerge.
DDR Lab
DDR Lab provides the principal experimental environment for research into Linux-based operating systems, lightweight computing, professional workstations, legacy hardware and digital autonomy.
Core project:
- Linux Trabant — A Debian-based lightweight computing environment currently stable and operating in production, designed around maintainability, long-term hardware use and compatibility with contemporary services.
AI Directives
Research into the practical application of artificial intelligence in professional environments, with particular emphasis on legal services, decision support systems, human supervision and responsible AI governance.
Core directive:
- SSM (System of Minimal Synthesis) – An interoperable operational directive for AI-assisted legal practice. Designed to operate consistently across multiple AI models, SSM defines structured workflows, validation checkpoints and human supervision principles that promote transparency, reproducibility and professional accountability.
Additional experimental layers and specialized directives, including MINOL, TLR and domain-specific implementations, are developed within this research line as practical use cases require them.
Web Systems Engineering
Applied research into web architecture, platform interoperability, structured data, compatibility engineering and the long-term maintainability of modern web applications.
Projects in this area typically emerge from specific operational problems rather than from a separate product roadmap.
Current implementation:
- Trabant Total – A lightweight WordPress compatibility plugin developed to resolve legacy structured-data conflicts while preserving the existing theme, navigation and SEO architecture.
Systems Thinking
Applied research into organisational systems, decision-making processes, workflow design and the interaction between technology and human judgment. This perspective also informs the design of infrastructure, AI directives and smaller experimental tools developed across Trabant Systems.
Publications
Research findings are published through technical documentation, articles, essays, development updates and independent papers. Some experimental initiatives may evolve into dedicated tools or platforms as research programmes continue to develop.
